Summer Workouts in Full Swing; Meet the Newest Panthers
ATLANTA -- With the 2023 football season less than 100 days away, the Georgia State football team is back on campus participating in summer workouts. Georgia State opens the 2023 season with a Thursday night game at Center Parc Stadium as the Panthers host Rhode Island on Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. Season tickets for the 2023 campaign are on sale now by calling 404-413-4020 during business hours or visiting GeorgiaStateSports.com/TIX. The Georgia State roster features 65 returnees, led by quarterback Darren Grainger, tackle Travis Glover, running back Marcus Carroll and receiver Robert Lewis on offense, as well as linebackers Jontrey Hunter, Jordan Veneziale and Blake Carroll, defensive end Javon Denis and cornerback Bryquice Brown on defense. The Panthers will incorporate 11 freshmen signees and 19 transfers into the mix. Several key additions enrolled in January and made an impact in spring practice, such as receiver Jacari Carter (Merrimack), offensive lineman Tyden Ferris (Central Michigan), outside linebacker Kevin Swint (Clemson) and defensive lineman Henry Bryant (Louisville).
