Tennessee Titans trade 7th round pick to add kicker Nick Folk

Nashville Tennessean
The Tennessee Titans have traded a 2025 seventh-round pick to the New England Patriots to acquire veteran kicker Nick Folk, pending a physical.
The Titans have cycled through three kickers this training camp, waiving Trey Wolff, Caleb Shudak and Michael Badgley in the past two weeks. Folk will be the 16th kicker the Titans have had on roster since 2019.
The Titans confirmed the trade Tuesday evening.
Heading into his 16th year in the NFL, the 38-year-old Folk has played for the Patriots, New York Jets, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Dallas Cowboys. He's made 82.9% of the field goals in his career, including going 32-for-37 last season.
Folk was in a competition throughout training camp in New England with rookie kicker Chad Ryland, who the Patriots picked in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft.
Folk has made the 23rd-most field goals in NFL history. He made his lone Pro Bowl as a rookie with the Cowboys in 2007. For his career he is 36-for-58 on kicks from 50 yards or longer, including 4-for-5 last year and 12-for-17 dating back to 2019.
Folk was selected by the Cowboys in the sixth round of the 2007 NFL Draft out of Arizona.
The Titans' need for a kicker came after deciding to part ways with three in the last couple of weeks. Shudak and Wolff had both been on the Titans' roster throughout minicamp, OTAs and the beginning of training camp, but both were waived after the Titans' second preseason game. The team brought in Badgley, a more experienced kicker, as their replacement, but for the second time in his career Badgley lasted less than a week on the Titans' roster as he was waived two days after the final preseason game.
Dating back to 2019, the Titans rank last in the NFL in field goals made, field goals attempted and successfully-made field goal percentage.
