UPDATES
Week 14: In Alabama's win over Georgia in the SEC Championship Game, 27-24, McKinstry broke up his seventh pass of the season. He collected two assisted tackles. — JH
Week 13: McKinstry allowed one catch for 15 yards, and the Tide beat Auburn in this year's Iron Bowl, 27-24. McKinistry was in on one tackle. — JH
Week 12: In 49 snaps, McKinstry did not record a stat — no targets in coverage, no tackles — as 'Bama smahed Chattanooga, 66-10. —JH
Week 11: In helping Alabama beat Kentucky 49-21, the All-American corner recorded another pass break-up. He was in on three tackles in 51 total snaps. — JH
Week 10: Alabama came away with an impressive win over No. 14 LSU, 42-28. Much was made of the showdown between Kool-Aid and Malik Nabors. The LSU standout caught 10 balls but those receptions came against other Tide DBs. McKinstry allowed just one catch for eight yards on four targets. — JH
Week 9: DNP — Bye
Week 8: In the tide's 34-20 victory of No. 17 Tennessee, McKinstry notched his fifth pass breakup of the season. In coverage, he allowed one catch for 10 yards on four targets. — JH
Week 7: In Alabama's 24-21 win over Arkansas, McKinstry was not targeted in coverage. He recorded one tackle in an otherwise unevental afternoon. — JH
Week 6: McKinstry recorded six tackles, and Texas A&M quarterback Max Johnson didn't shy away from McKinstry, targeting the corner five times in coverage. Kool-Aid gave three receptions for 40 yards, though most of the damage was a single 32-yard pass play to Aggies receiver Evan Stewart over McKinistry. Kool-Aid was in solid coverage; Johnson's exquisite ball placement on Stewart's back shoulder made the pass almost indefensible. — JH
Week 5: The Alabama corner made his presence felt as much blitzing Mississippi State quarterback Will Rogers as he did dropping into coverage and defending against Rogers' passes. Rogers targeted McKinistry twice, but the All-American corner did not give up a reception and recorded a pass break-up on one of the targets — his fourth straight game with a pass defensed. The Crimson Tide routed the Bulldogs 40-17. — JH
Week 4: In Alabam's 24-10 win over Ole Miss, McKinistry posted one solo tackle and two assisted tackles. In coverage, he was targeted four times but gave up only one catch, for 15 yards, and broke up a pass. — JH
Week 3: In Alabama's 17-3 win over South Florida, McKinstry played 77 snaps, was targeted three times in coverage, allowing two receptions. — JH
Week 2: McKinstry played 76 snaps against Texas, an indication as to how much time the Tide defense spent on the field in 'Bama's 34-24 loss. It wasn't the All-American corner's best day as Longhorns QB Quinn Ewers targeted him five times, completing four of those attempts, including a long of 32 yards. He also gave up one of Ewers' three TD throws. McKinstry recorded five tackles, but missed a couple of tackles as well. — JH
Week 1: In Alabama's 56-7 season-opening win over Middle Tennessee, McKinstry was targeted only twice and didn't allow a catch. He also totaled three tackles, two unassisted and one assisted as the Tide's defense gave up only 211 total yards. McKinstry returned five punts for 66 yards (13.2 average), with a long of 33 yards.
