 Draft Scout Kirk Cousins News
09/26/16 - QB Kirk Cousins threw two long touchdown passes and the Washington Redskins sealed a come-from-behind 29-27 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Cousins connected on a 44-yarder to DeSean Jackson to make it 21-16 at the half and a 55-yarder to Jamison Crowder to give the Redskins the lead.
09/18/16 - QB Kirk Cousins struggled for the second consecutive game, completing 28 of 46 passes for 364 yards, one touchdown and one interception, good for a 84.0 passer rating. "He's got to make some tough throws and usually ones he would normally hit, but he missed a few today," coach Jay Gruden said. "We'll coach him up. Can't put it all on Kirk, you know, there's a lot of other issues we had today."
09/13/16 - QB Kirk Cousins completed 30 of 43 passes for 329 yards. He threw two interceptions and saw his streak of 16 straight regular-season games (17 overall) with a touchdown pass snapped. "We just need to play better in every different way," Cousins said. "The same old things we have to do in every game: protect the football, avoid penalties, convert third downs, convert fourth down, take advantage of opportunities."
08/22/16 - QB Kirk Cousins will play the first half and possibly into the third quarter in Friday's preseason game against Buffalo. The Redskins did not play Cousins in last week's game against the New York Jets and he has thrown just five passes in two preseason games so far.
03/01/16 - QB Kirk Cousins received the franchise tag from the team for 2016 after a long-term contract couldn't be reached before Tuesday's deadline. The tag guarantees Cousins a $19.95 million salary this season. The Redskins and Cousins can still negotiate a long-term contract and have until July 15 to reach an agreement.
