St. John Bosco Bumps Mater Dei from No. 1 Spot

St. John Bosco (California) sits atop the High School Football America (HSFA) 100 national high school football rankings, powered by NFL Play Football.
The Braves jump to No. 1 after a dominating 28-0 shutout of its archrival Mater Dei (California), Friday night in Southern California. Mater Dei falls from No 1 to No. 3 in the latest rankings, created with HSFA's proprietary algorithm.
The Friday SoCal game was watched live by an overflow crowd of more than 7,000 after tickets sold out Tuesday within three minutes. The game featured 76 players recruited by FBS teams and more than two dozen college coaches were in attendance.
Mater Dei could get a shot at revenge in the CIF-Southern Section playoffs. Bosco and Mater Dei have won five of the last six HSFA national championships. One of these two teams won their division of the CIF State championship every year since 2018.
Bishop Gorman (Nevada) holds steady at No. 2 due to the fact that the Gaels strength of schedule (SOS) isn't as strong as Bosco's. But Gorman's road to a Nevada state championship is an easy one, with just one ranked team (No. 167 Liberty) on the playoff schedule. During the regular season, Gorman routed the Patriots 49-6.
Mill Creek (Georgia) jumps up eight spots this week to No. 10. The reigning Georgia 7A champs defeated former No. 8 Buford Friday night, 31-24, in a game that was mostly live on ESPN2. Buford, with top-rated quarterback Dylan Raiola, was driving as the clocked ticked down and was on the 12-yard line when the video feed switched to an NBA preseason game. ESPN replayed the video in its entirety on Sunday. Buford dropped four spots this week to No. 12.
The Norland Vikings make the biggest jump inside the Top 100. After the 29-26 win over Miami Central, the Vikings move from No. 55 to No. 26.

The High School Football America 100, powered by NFL Play Football, uses a proprietary algorithm to rank the top teams in the nation and crown an unofficial national champion at the end of the season.
This is the tenth year that HSFA has used the algorithm to create its rankings.
