QB Blake Bortles, benched by the Jaguars after Week 12, will be back in the starting lineup against the Dallas Texans in the final game of the season, coach Doug Marrone announced on Wednesday. Bortles relieved Cody Kessler and helped the Jaguars (5-10) defeat the Miami Dolphins, 17-7, last Sunday after they lost nine of their previous 10 games. QB Tom Brady said he plans to continue playing in 2019 and beyond. A three-time NFL Most Valuable Player, Brady is on record as saying that he'd like to play until he is 45 years old. The 41-year-old's current contract expires following the 2019 campaign.

KR Dwayne Harris secured AFC Special Team Player of the Week honors after returning a punt 99 yards for a touchdown in Monday's 27-14 victory versus the Denver Broncos. The punt return tied for the second-longest in NFL history.

K Brett Maher was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after booting two field goals and three extra points in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

C Ryan Kalil exited after the final home game and acknowledged that he indeed will follow through on plans to retire at season's end. That means he has one game remaining in a career that spanned 12 seasons. "A lot of good memories here, with a lot of great guys," Kalil said. "Lot of great coaches. ... Very blessed to be able to play as long as I did, and can't really find the words to describe it." ...

T Tyron Smith has played the last three games despite a neck injury. He went through a full practice on Wednesday.

RG Zack Martin came out of the Philadelphia game with a sprained MCL and didn't play against the Colts. He returned to action against Tampa Bay. Martin didn't appear to aggravate the injury, but he didn't practice on Wednesday.

LB Sean Lee (groin) returned to action against the Colts but was inactive against Tampa Bay. He went through limited practice on Wednesday.

DT Aaron Donald received NFC Defensive Player of the Week laurels following his three-sack, seven-tackle performance in Sunday's 31-9 romp over the Arizona Cardinals. His 19.5 sacks on the season are three shy of Michael Strahan's NFL record.

LB Patrick Onwuasor was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a team-high nine tackles and two sacks in Saturday's 22-10 triumph over the Los Angeles Chargers.
