TE Orson Charles (ankle) was placed on reserve/injured by the Browns Thursday (Dec. 13). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Charles, a third-year player, saw action in all 13 games (two starts) with the Browns this season. He recorded three receptions for 23 yards and added five tackles on special teams

LB Xavier Woodson-Luster was signed by the Browns Thursday (Dec. 13) from the practice squad. Woodson-Luster (6-1, 220) is in his second NFL season out of Arkansas State. QB Cam Newton should be able to make it through the season even with his sore shoulder, head coach Ron Rivera said. Newton has previously shrugged off suggestions that he might have to come out of the lineup. LB Thomas Davis recovered two fumbles in the Cleveland game for his first two takeaways of the season. Those recoveries gave Davis 11 fumble recoveries in his career. That ties the franchise record set by former defensive back Mike Minter.

T Chris Clark didn't practice Thursday because of a knee injury. The ailment apparently stems from gradual wear and tear and not a specific play.

K Chandler Catanzaro joined the team prior to the game at Cleveland after kicking earlier in the season for Tampa Bay. He was 2-for-2 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra-point attempts in his Carolina debut. K Graham Gano, who has an ailing left knee, didn't return to active participation in workouts by Thursday so Catanzaro likely gets the call for the game vs. New Orleans.

WR Odell Beckham Jr. was held out of practice Thursday and received further evaluation on his injured quadriceps.

WR Damoe'ea Stringfellow was signed by the Seahawks to their practice squad Thursday (Dec. 13). He had been released by the Titans from the practice squad Sept. 6.

QB Carson Wentz is dealing with a fracture in his back that threatens his season, multiple media outlets reported Thursday. Wentz is not expected to play Sunday's matchup at the Los Angeles Rams after an MRI exam revealed a fractured vertebrae, according to ESPN.
