CB Chris Jones was signed by the Cardinals from their practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18).Jones (6-0, 200) played in one game earlier this season for the Cardinals and has spent the rest of this season on Arizona's practice squad after signing on Sept. 3. He spent the preseason with the Lions after entering the league with Detroit in May as an undrafted rookie free agent out of Nebraska.

CB Quinten Rollins was placed on waivers by the Cardinals Tuesday (Dec. 18).

CB Dontae Johnson was placed on waivers by the Cardinals Tuesday (Dec. 18).

LB Jonathan Anderson was placed on waivers by the Cardinals Tuesday (Dec. 18).

CB Ahkello Witherspoon (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the 49ers Tuesday (Dec. 18). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Witherspoon (6-3, 195) appeared in 14 games (12 starts) this season with the 49ers and registered a career-high 37 tackles and four passes defensed.

S Tyvis Powell was signed by the 49ers to their practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18). He had been waived by the 49ers Nov. 12 and released from the Jets practice squad Dec. 11. Powell (6-3, 211) also appeared in four games (one start) this season with the 49ers and registered five tackles and one forced fumble on defense in addition to one special teams tackle prior to being waived by the team. RB Ito Smith (knee) was placed on reserve/injured by the Falcons Tuesday (Dec. 18). He will miss the remainder of the 2018 season. Smith played in 14 games for the Falcons during his rookie season. WR Christian Blake was signed by the Falcons to the practice squad Tuesday (Dec. 18). He had been released by the Falcons from the practice squad Sept. 25. Blake was signed by the Falcons following the 2018 draft. He played in 47 career games at Northern Illinois University posting 83 catches for 972 yards and six touchdowns.
