Oregon State lands Colorado lineman Van Wells, first transfer of Trent Bray era
The Oregonian/OregonLive Oregon State secured its first transfer of the coach Trent Bray era as Colorado offensive lineman Van Wells committed Sunday night to the Beavers. The 6-foot-2, 290-pound Wells, a sophomore who has three years to complete his final two years of eligibility, started 10 games for the Buffaloes this past season. In two seasons at Colorado, Wells played in 20 games.
Wells was a 3-star recruit, and considered the No. 9 center prospect by ESPN, when he signed with Colorado in Dec. of 2021.
Under coach Deion Sanders, Colorado is going through a complete makeover of its offensive line for next season. Oregon State has a need at center as three-year starter Jake Levengood is out of eligibility after Beavers play in the Sun Bowl. .
