Giants legend blasts hosts for ‘obsession’ with former first-round pick

NJ Advance Media for NJ. com WFAN’s Brandon Tierney and Sal Licata have been critical of Kayvon Thibodeaux. But former Giants linebacker Carl Banks came on the show Wednesday and stood up for Thibodeaux, who was picked fifth overall by New York in the 2022 Draft.

“This unhealthy obsession for finding what is wrong with Kayvon Thibodeaux is bordering weird,” Banks said, via WFAN. “You talk about you don’t like a guy’s body? The guy just had a game that would put him in the running for Defensive Player of the Week. He had seven or eight pressures.

Go look at Khalil Mack and see if he even had five pressures…you don’t have to like him. You don’t even have to like his body. But tell me you watched the game before you say he just stands there and you don’t like his body.

He had a monster game. What are we talking about?” In Sunday’s 14-7 win over the Commanders, Thibodeaux recorded 1. 5 sacks, bringing his season total to 5.

5 and surpassing the four he recorded in his rookie season. The Giants’ defense in Sunday’s win was dominant overall, and they gave up 273 yards to Washington in the Week 7 win. Next week, they’ll match up against a Jets offense led by Zach Wilson.

“We’ve just got to carry the momentum,” Thibodeaux said after Sunday’s win. “We got a win, finally, and I think that along with just continuing to be critical with ourselves in the game and see what we get better at. I think it’s going to be a good game.

. . .

They’ve got a great offense, great players And I think that it’s going to take late-game execution to win that game. ” .
