DeAndre Hopkins' absence headlines Tennessee Titans' first Week 2 injury report

Tennessee Titans star receiver DeAndre Hopkins didn't practice Wednesday because of an ankle injury, a surprise that headlined the team's first injury report of Week 2. The Titans (0-1) are playing their home opener Sunday (noon, CBS) against the Los Angeles Chargers (0-1). Hopkins led the Titans in targets (13), receptions (seven) and receiving yards (65) in the team's 16-15 loss to the New Orleans Saints in Week 1 and did not appear to be battling any injuries in that game.

Nevertheless he wasn't on the field Wednesday. Two other Titans missed practice entirely Wednesday and three more were limited. One of the missing players was second-year receiver Treylon Burks, but he was absent for a non-injury related reason, and Titans coach Mike Vrabel said to expect Burks back in the mix Thursday.

Safety Amani Hooker is in concussion protocol and will not be able to return to practice until he clears protocol, per NFL policy. Players who were limited in practice include cornerback Kristian Fulton and running back Tyjae Spears. It's not a surprise Fulton is on the report after he injured his hamstring against the Saints.

Spears is a little bit more of a surprise as he's dealing with a previously unmentioned groin injury. Cornerback Tre Avery, the lone Titans player who was ruled out for the Saints game, returned to practice as a full participant Wednesday. He had been dealing with a hamstring injury dating to the end of training camp.

Offensive tackle Dillon Radunz, who hasn't been on the field for a game since he tore his ACL in December, was a full participant as well. The Titans' complete injury report for Wednesday is below. Tennessee Titans injury report: Sept.

13 WR DeAndre Hopkins (ankle): Did not practice S Amani Hooker (concussion): Did not practice WR Treylon Burks (non-injury related): Did not practice CB Kristian Fulton (hamstring): Limited participation RB Tyjae Spears (groin): Limited participation DL Teair Tart (groin): Limited participation CB Tre Avery (hamstring): Full participation OL Dillon Radunz (knee): Full participation .
