Dolphins WR Tyreek Hill won’t be disciplined by NFL for offseason marina dispute

Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill will not face discipline from the NFL for an offseason incident at a marina in which he slapped a worker. League spokesman Brian McCarthy told the Miami Herald in an email on Thursday that “there will be no action taken by the league. ” The Herald previously reported that Hill was deep sea fishing with friends and his agent on Father’s Day when he exchanged words with at least two men who told him fishing from the Haulover Park Marina dock was off-limits and one accused Hill of slapping him on the back of the head.

Police were never called to the dock and the man accusing Hill of slapping him reported the incident the following day. The Miami-Dade Police later forwarded the information to the state attorney’s office for further review. In late July, the Miami-Date State Attorney’s Office closed the investigation with no criminal misdemeanor battery charges being filed.

Later that day, South Florida talk show host Andy Slater released video that shows part of the incident. In the video, Hill is being restrained by another individual and slaps the back of a man’s head after passing by him. The video then cuts to another scene showing Hill trying to break free and being held back by multiple people.

Two days before the State Attorney’s Office’s announcement, Hill’s attorney and the attorney of the marina worker at the center of the dispute released a statement saying that Hill and the worker “resolved their differences. ” Hill spoke with the league office as part of the NFL’s investigation into the matter. On the first day of training camp, Hill said he wasn’t concerned about a league suspension, but added: “I just can’t make boneheaded mistakes like that.

” Hill has missed the last two days of practice with an excused absence. Roster note The Dolphins continue to add to their practice squad, signing offensive tackle James Tunstall and veteran running back Darrynton Evans. Tunstall, who signed with the team as an undrafted rookie in May, was waived as part of the first wave of roster cuts on Monday.

Evans, 25, was waived by the Buffalo Bills on Tuesday. A third-round pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2020, he has appeared in 12 games, rushing 30 times for 125 yards. He has also caught five passes for 71 yards and one touchdown.

Evans spent the 2022 season with the Chicago Bears. Evans was at practice on Thursday in a No. 37 jersey.
