Mizzou football releases depth chart ahead of opening game. Here's who is on it

Mizzou football released its full unofficial depth chart Wednesday, a day ahead of its season-opening game against South Dakota in Columbia. The surprises were minimal. Quarterbacks Brady Cook and Sam Horn are listed with an “or” next to their names, supporting the multiple times Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz has said they would split reps.

On Tuesday during his weekly in-season radio show Tiger Talk, the coach said they could use “potentially three” quarterbacks against South Dakota. Miami transfer Jake Garcia is listed below Cook and Horn on the depth chart. Elsewhere, there’s an abundance of true freshmen in backup roles with the left guard, every wide receiver spot, running back, tight end, cornerback, safety, placekicker and long snapper positions each sporting rookies in line for reps.

Middle linebacker Chad Bailey was omitted from this week’s depth chart. He underwent a procedure, Drinkwitz said, that was set to see him miss at least the first two games of the season, per the 21-day recovery timeline provided. Starting safety JC Carlies, who was listed as questionable on this week’s injury report, holds on to his spot as the No.
