Court date for Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins' trial rescheduled

Nashville Tennessean Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins was supposed to have a date in court on Wednesday, but his trial has been pushed back to Sept. 25. Haskins was charged with aggravated assault by strangulation in June after a domestic disturbance with his girlfriend.

Haskins' girlfriend was also charged with aggravated assault and was also charged with assault with a deadly weapon and felony vandalism. The NFL placed Haskins on the commissioner exempt list Tuesday and as such will not be allowed to attend Titans' practices or games until his legal matters are resolved. The Titans moved Haskins to injured reserve on Monday before he landed on the exempt list and before the Titans trimmed their roster to 53 players, effectively ending his season either way.

The Titans' fourth-round pick out of Michigan in 2022, Haskins started one game and played in 15, rushing 25 times for 93 yards. He also contributed quite a bit on special teams, returning 19 kickoffs for 414 yards and making 13 tackles in kick and punt coverage. With Haskins on the exempt list, the Titans only have three running backs on their active roster: Derrick Henry, Tyjae Spears and Julius Chestnut.
