Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow returns to practice ahead of Week 1 matchup with Browns

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Browns fans hoping for a break Week 1 when they kick off their season against the Bengals on Sept. 10 at Cleveland Browns Stadium aren’t going to get it. Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow, who injured his calf in training camp, was spotted walking to the practice field on Wednesday in Cincinnati with pads on and helmet in hand.

ESPN’s Ben Baby tweeted a photo of Burrow with other Bengals quarterbacks on their way to practice as well as video of Burrow throwing on Instagram. The Athletic’s Paul Dehner Jr. tweeted “Joe Burrow is walking out to practice with helmet and shoulder pads on.

” Who is Jilly Anais, Deshaun Watson’s long-time girlfriend? Burrow was carted off the practice field on July 27 in a heart-stopping moment for Bengals fans after he pulled up on a scramble. The injury was later revealed to be a calf strain. The Browns will host Burrow and the Bengals in one of Week 1′s most highly-anticipated games as the fourth-year signal caller out of LSU, who has struggled against the Browns, will face Deshaun Watson, entering his first year full season as the Browns starting quarterback, and a Browns team hoping to dethrone their in-state rival as the top team in the AFC North.

Burrow is 1-4 against the Browns in his career and has thrown five interceptions, the second-most interceptions against one team. The Browns have sacked him 18 times, the most any team has brought him down. The Bengals, the betting favorite to win the division, are coming off back-to-back AFC North titles and have appeared in the AFC Championship Game in consecutive years, advancing to the Super Bowl in 2021.

Burrow finished fourth in MVP voting last season. Three of the Browns’ first four games this season are against AFC North opponents. After hosting the Bengals in Week 1, they travel to Pittsburgh for a Monday night game in Week 2 and host the Ravens in Week 4.
