NFL Team Report - Cleveland Browns</h2><br>--Gregg Williams is 5-2 as interim head coach of the Browns. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam has been silent about Williams' future, and by extension Haslam has been silent about who might be named head coach for 2019.<p></p> Williams was asked whether he would like Haslam to make than announcement this week, similar to the Ravens announcing last week that John Harbaugh would return in 2019. The Ravens responded by beating the Chargers, 22-10.<p></p> "That is a very good question that you know that I can't answer because we're on to the Ravens," Williams said.<p></p> --Williams was the Browns defensive coordinator during the 0-16 2017 season. He said the mood at the team complex in Berea, Ohio, not surprisingly, is completely different than it was a year ago.<p></p> "I have been in a lot of buildings that have been rocking and rolling at the end of the season," Williams said. "To be quite truthful, it's one of the things that I said when I came here to ownership is I wanted to help them have this feeling and I wanted to help them do that. I feel good about giving the opportunity for people to feel like it has been in other buildings where I've been."<p></p> The team Williams was a part of that had success most recently was when he was defensive coordinator of the 2011 Saints. The Saints finished 13-3 that season two years after winning the Super Bowl with Williams as defensive coordinator.<p></p> --The 2018 Browns have made the biggest turnaround in franchise history. They are 7-7-1 after finishing 0-16 last year. Prior to 2018, their biggest turnaround was going 3-11 in 1975 to 9-5 a year later. They were 6-8 in 1977 and head coach Forrest Gregg was fired 13 games into the season when the Browns were 6-5.<p></p> --Browns rookie quarterback Baker Mayfield on Wednesday was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week. He threw three touchdown passes without an interception while completing 27 of 37 passes for 284 yards. He was not sacked.<p></p> BY THE NUMBERS: 9 - Years since the Browns won their last game. They beat the Jaguars, 23-17, on Jan. 3, 2010 and have lost eight straight finales since then.
