NFL Team Report - Denver Broncos
--After missing practice time earlier in the week, wide receiver Courtland Sutton resumed practicing in a limited fashion Wednesday and Broncos head coach Vance Joseph was optimistic Sutton would be ready to play Saturday against the Browns. "He looked pretty good," Joseph said. Sutton suffered a quad injury in last week's loss to the 49ers. --Linebacker Brandon Marshall continues to take part in practice this week, and barring a setback, he could return for the Browns game. He had missed the last six weeks with a knee injury. --Rookie cornerback Isaac Yiadom is struggling with a shoulder injury and may not be able to play on Saturday night. He missed significant practice this week because of the shoulder issue. --Defensive end Derek Wolfe has missed most of practice this week while in the NFL's concussion protocol. However, he has been making progress and his availability for the Browns game could come down to a game-time decision. --Linebacker Shaquil Barrett (hip) and cornerback Chris Harris Jr. (fractured fibula) are not expected to play Saturday night. --Cornerback Tramaine Brock, who missed last week's game at San Francisco with a rib injury, is back at practice and expects to be ready to play against the Browns. With Chris Harris Jr. still sidelined by a broken leg and his replacement, Isaac Yiadom, bothered by a shoulder injury, Brock could step into the starting spot in their place. He would play opposite Bradley Roby. Jamar Taylor, a veteran free agent signed by the Broncos earlier this week, is slated to see time in the nickel package. --Pass rushing linebacker Von Miller got a talking to this week from his defensive coordinator, Joe Woods, after jumping offside three times in the loss last week to the 49ers. "He definitely was pressing," Woods said. "He felt like he had a good tell on the snap count so he just tried to jump it a little. I talked to him and at some point you've just got to go on the ball. For him to get that many offsides, it was unnecessary." For his part, Miller said he was unhappy with the penalties but also declared he had to stay aggressive. "At the end of the day, if I've got 97 sacks, probably 80 of them came off getting a great jump. So it's like, 'Yeah, I jumped offsides, but quarterbacks throw interceptions, too.' It's not like you tell them not to throw the ball down the field any more. It's just part of the game. ... I'm a gambling man." BY THE NUMBERS; Outside linebackers Von Miller (13.5) and Bradley Chubb (12.0) have combined for 25.5 sacks this season, the most by a pass-rushing tandem in the league through Week 14. It is also the second most by a duo in team history. Miller and Elvis Dumervil combined for 29.5 sacks in 2012.
