Tennessee outside linebacker Jonathan Kongbo will miss the remainder of the season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee. Per coach Jeremy Pruitt, Kongbo was injured during the third quarter of Tennessee's 30-24 win at Auburn on Saturday. An MRI on Sunday confirmed the severity of the injury for Kongbo, who started five of six games this season. Pruitt said that Kongbo is expected to have surgery this week. Kongbo had two tackles as well as an interception during the second quarter of Saturday's contest for the Volunteers, who snapped an 11-game losing skid in the Southeastern Conference. The fifth-year senior, who transferred from Arizona Western College, played defensive end in his first two seasons with Tennessee before converting to outside linebacker during the offseason. He joined Darrell Taylor when the Volunteers played in their 3-4 defense and finished with 51 tackles during his career with Tennessee. Kongbo had 11 tackles and four quarterback hurries this season for the Volunteers (3-3, 1-2 SEC), who host No. 1 Alabama (7-0, 4-0) on Saturday. Deandre Johnson and Jordan Allen are expected to see more playing time in Kongbo's absence. Johnson had four tackles, including a sack, and Allen added two tackles against Auburn.
