Report: Packers TE Graham has a broken thumb
Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham (80) has one reception in three of his past four games.
Green Bay Packers tight end Jimmy Graham has sustained what the NFL Network reported on Friday is a broken thumb and might be out indefinitely.
Graham was injured in the first half of Thursday night's 27-24 loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He did not return, and NFL.com reported that the injury was "feared to be serious."
The injury appeared to occur on a blocking play along the right sideline late in the first half. Graham had one reception for 13 yards before exiting the game.
Thursday was a homecoming game of sorts for Graham, who spent the previous three seasons with Seattle before signing a three-year, $30 million contract in March on the first day of free agency.
Graham has 34 receptions for 452 yards and two touchdowns for the Packers, but he has become an afterthought in the offense with one catch in three of the past four games.
The 10-year veteran had 170 receptions in three seasons with the Seahawks and notched 10 touchdowns in 2017, marking the fourth time he has amassed double-digit TDs.
Green Bay has three other tight ends on the roster in Lance Kendricks, Marcedes Lewis and rookie Robert Tonyan, who had a 54-yard touchdown against Seattle for his first career catch.
Graham, who will turn 32 on Nov. 24, spent his first five seasons in New Orleans and emerged as one of the league's elite tight ends with 51 scoring passes, including a career-best 16 in 2013.
A third-round pick of the Saints in the 2010 NFL Draft, the 6-foot-7, 265-pound Graham has earned Pro Bowl honors five times, including his final two seasons with Seattle.
For his career, Graham has 590 receptions for 7,252 yards and 71 touchdowns in 131 games.
