Rams' Donald fined more than $23K over Britt confrontation
Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (3) is sacked by Los Angeles Rams defensive end Aaron Donald (99) in the first half at the Memorial Coliseum on Nov. 11.
Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald was fined $23,395 for his series of altercations in a game against the Seattle Seahawks.
The NFL fined Donald $10,026 for his retaliatory hit on Seahawks center Justin Britt after the latter delivered a late shove to the defensive tackle out of bounds. Both players were penalized for unnecessary roughness.
Donald drew a $13,369 fine after he ran back on the field to confront Britt following the game.
"I just got to control my temper. I just got to be better," the 27-year-old Donald said. "... You've gotta be smarter with the game. Can't hurt your team."
"We love Aaron. I love Aaron," McVay said. "And the best part about Aaron is -- like all of our players this year when you've had some situations that come up -- they're able to take the ownership, the accountability and know what they can do if something like this comes up in the future about how we want to try to handle it."
Britt was fined $20,054 for a late hit on Donald during the same fourth-quarter sequence.
Donald was fined $20,054 after a Week 1 victory over the Oakland Raiders for a low hit on quarterback Derek Carr.
The former NFL Defensive Player of the Year and four-time Pro Bowl selection wasn't the only member of the Rams to be fined following Sunday's contest versus the Seahawks.
Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh was fined $20,054 for a hit on Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and defensive end Dante Fowler Jr. was fined $10,026 for a facemask.
