OL Tony Pilato (59), a redshirt junior, is leaving Pittsburgh and transferring to Slippery Rock.
Former Pittsburgh offensive lineman Tony Pilato will continue his college football career at NCAA Division II Slippery Rock University after announcing last month that he was transferring. Pilato, a redshirt junior at Pitt, is staying in Pennsylvania with the transfer. He will be able to play immediately at Slippery Rock and again during the 2019 season. In three seasons with the Panthers, Pilato played in 12 games, with all of his action coming last season. After spring practice at Pitt in late April, Pilato told the coaching staff that he planned to leave. No reason was conveyed for his departure. With Pilato and tight end Chris Clark leaving this spring, Pitt is now at the 85-scholarship limit, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. Coming out of high school in 2015, Pilato was ranked the No. 17 player overall in Pennsylvania.
