Running back Antonio Williams (26) rushed for 290 yards for Ohio State last season.
Ohio State running back Antonio Williams announced on his Twitter account that he will transfer to North Carolina. "Though being at Ohio State provided me with the right path to reach those goals, the timing for me to be at OSU wasn't the most ideal," Williams said in a statement on Twitter. "With that being said, following the end of this semester, I will be transferring to the University of North Carolina." The move will put Williams closer to his home in New London, N.C. Williams played in 12 games for the Buckeyes last season, and he rushed for 290 yards and three touchdowns on 57 carries. Williams figured to be no better than the Buckeyes' third-string running back in 2018 with the return of J.K. Dobbins, who rushed for 1,412 yards last season as a freshman, and Mike Weber, who ran for 640 yards as a sophomore. While in high school, Williams initially committed to North Carolina. He then switched his commitment to Wisconsin before switching again and signing with Ohio State. Williams will have two years of eligibility after sitting out the 2018 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
