Crowell High on Bears After Official Visit

Last weekend, the Bears hosted 6-5/230 Summit (Bend, OR) High School tight end Charlie Crowell‍ on the Bears' second OV weekend of the summer. The 3 star TE also holds offers from Arizona and WSU. As a junior, Crowell pulled in 23 catches for 366 yards and 5 TDs for the Oregon 5A state champs, averaging an impressive 15.9 yards per catch. “I had an amazing time, definitely one of my top visits I’ve ever been on,” Crowell said after his visit. “We did everything, learning about the program, learning about academics, touring campus, experiencing Berkeley, and spending time with the players. “I think the program has a bright future with the new offensive staff and the staff was super welcoming. I met most of them for the first time over the weekend and they’re all cool people that care a lot about the program and are invested in the future. I spent the most time with (tight ends) Jack Endries, Jeffrey Johnson, JT Byrne, and Asher Alberding. My player host was Fernando Mendoza. All cool guys that I fit in with very well.” Though he’s located in Oregon now, the 3 star TE does have California roots not far from Berkeley. “I’m originally from the Bay Area in Novato so this wasn’t a first impression for me,” Crowell said. “I love the bay. It’s basically my home so I would love to be there for college. The facilities are great. They’re so close to each other, it’s very efficient. The campus is cool as it’s older and has tons of history. I could definitely see myself at Cal.” It likely won’t take long to see if Crowell does indeed end up at Cal as he anticipates making a decision as early as a week from now.
