Duke S Singleton (ankle) out indefinitely

Duke safety Dylan Singleton is sidelined indefinitely with a broken ankle. The school reported that Singleton underwent surgery Sunday to repair the injury sustained a day earlier in the first half of a 42-35 victory over North Carolina. Singleton is the 15th player with starting experience for Duke to miss at least one game this season due to injury. He will sit out the team's final two contests -- including this weekend's game at Clemson (10-0, 7-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) -- and likely a bowl game as a result of the surgery. The junior recorded 73 tackles in 10 contests and had four games with at least 10 for the Blue Devils (7-3, 3-3). He also collected two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery this season. Singleton earned ACC Defensive Back of the Week honors following Duke's win at Baylor. Singleton likely joins cornerback Mark Gilbert and defensive tackle Edgar Cerenord as being lost for the season due to injury. Duke was without linebacker Joe Giles-Harris on Saturday due to an MCL injury from the previous week. In addition, running back Brittain Brown, cornerback Michael Carter II, center Zach Harmon, safety Jordan Hayes, linebacker Ben Humphreys, quarterback Daniel Jones, defensive end Drew Jordan, safety Jeremy McDuffie, offensive tackle Jaylen Miller, linebacker Koby Quansah and wide receiver Aaron Young have also missed a start due to injury this season for Duke.
