Nebraska head coach Scott Frost's home was burglarized this past weekend.
More than $165,000 worth of memorabilia was stolen from the home of new Nebraska coach Scott Frost, according to Lincoln, Neb., police, multiple media outlets reported Monday. The house, which is being renovated, was not occupied when burglars took two Nebraska championship rings, 10 Oregon rings, two Central Florida rings and five pairs of Air Jordan shoes, Capt. Danny Reitan told ESPN. Police said the burglary took place sometime between Friday evening and Sunday evening. The burglars apparently gained access through an unlocked door in the garage. --Tennessee All-American offensive lineman Trey Smith has been cleared for non-contact workouts, ESPN reported. Smith, who became the first true freshman in more than 30 years to start the season opener at left tackle for the Volunteers, missed all of spring practice due to blood clots in his lungs. According to the report, Smith will need to be monitored regularly and still has a risk of developing more blood clots. Smith, 6-foot-6 and 320 pounds, started all 12 games last year as a freshman and is considered the team's best lineman. He still must undergo a CT scan before he's cleared to resume contact. --Iowa safety Brandon Snyder is leaving the program, the school announced. Snyder, who pleaded guilty to drunk driving in February, told the Des Moines Register than he will continue his career at South Dakota State as a graduate transfer. Snyder was a starter at free safety throughout his sophomore season in 2016, but he tore his ACL in his left knee during spring practice a year ago and had surgery in April. He returned to play against Illinois on Oct. 7, a game the Hawkeyes won 45-16. However, he suffered another torn ACL in that game that sidelined him for the rest of the season.
