Cleveland Browns defensive back Terrance Mitchell (39) was activated from injured reserve on Saturday.
The Cleveland Browns activated cornerback Terrance Mitchell from injured reserve on Saturday. Mitchell will return from a wrist injury for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers. Mitchell has been out since fracturing his wrist in the second quarter at Oakland in Week 4 and was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 2. He practiced this week and was designated to return from injured reserve. "He had a really good day today," Cleveland coach Gregg Williams said after practice Friday. "He was the topic of a lot of conversation for how well he played." The Browns added Mitchell as an unrestricted free agent and signed him to a three-year, $12 million deal in the offseason. He was highly productive in Cleveland's first three games by totaling 19 tackles, three passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one interception. Last season for the Kansas City Chiefs, he set career highs with 53 tackles, 18 passes defended and four interceptions. Mitchell solidified himself as a starter alongside Denzel Ward and his return is timely for the Browns since Ward will miss his first career game with a concussion. To make room for Mitchell, tight end Pharaoh Brown was placed on injured reserve with a shoulder injury. Brown has been inactive for the last five games and spent four weeks on Cleveland's practice squad. He was placed on injured reserve after leaving Friday's practice with a shoulder injury. .
