Dumas joins the Roadrunners after starting the past two seasons in the secondary for the Aggies. An All-Independent First Team selection by College Football Network and a second-team honoree by Phil Steele, he played in all 13 games in 2022, posting 47 total tackles, 38 solo stops, five tackles for loss, three pass breakups, two interceptions and a pair of fumble recoveries to help led NM State to a seven-win campaign capped by a Quick Lane Bowl victory over Bowling Green. A native of Columbus, Mississippi, Dumas appeared in eight contests and made seven starts in 2021, registering 39 total tackles, including 26 unassisted and three TFLs, to go with eight PBUs, two INTs and a fumble recovery. Dumas transferred to NM State from Independence Community College in Kansas where he recorded 12 tackles and a sack in five games as a freshman in 2020-21. UTSA's 2023 class now numbers 27, including 18 who hail from Texas with seven from the Greater Houston Area, five from East Texas and three apiece from the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex and Central Texas. There are two from Georgia and Mississippi and one each from Alabama, Hawai'i, Louisiana and Pennsylvania, as well as the program's first player from American Samoa. The group features a near-even split of 14 transfers and 13 who come from the high school ranks. Of the transfers, six hail from an FBS, FCS or NCAA Division II program while eight last played at a junior college. Fifteen members of the class are offensive players, while 12 are pegged for the defensive side of the ball. 2023 UTSA Football Signing Class Name Pos. Ht. Wt.
