Wide receiver Markus Allen leaving the Wisconsin program for the second time

MADISON – Wide receiver Markus Allen is leaving the Wisconsin program for the second time. Allen, who was arrested in April at the Mifflin Street Block Party, announced Friday he is entering the transfer portal. Allen was arrested for having an open container of alcohol at the annual party. According to Madison Police, a stolen gun was found in the backpack Allen had in his possession. No charges have been filed regarding the gun. Allen, from Dayton, Ohio, wrote Friday he will not comment on the incident or his decision to transfer. Allen played in nine games over the last two seasons. He played in three games as a freshman in 2021 and finished with three catches for 65 yards. He played in six games last season and finished with seven catches for 91 yards. However, Allen decided to transfer after not playing in UW's Oct. 15 game at Michigan State. Allen announced in November he planned to transfer to Minnesota but changed his mind after the hiring of Luke Fickell and returned to UW to prepare for the 2023 season.
