Alabama football receives six selections for preseason first-team All-SEC at Media Days
Six Alabama football players were selected preseason All-SEC first team, tied for the second most in the conference, by a vote of media at 2023 SEC Media Days. Georgia led all schools with 11 first-team selections, while LSU also had six.
First-team selections for the Crimson Tide included right tackle J.C. Latham, cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry, kicker Will Reichard, long snapper Kneeland Hibbett, linebacker Dallas Turner, and McKinstry named twice, also as the league's top return specialist.
Second-team selections from Alabama were running back Jase McClellan, guard Tyler Booker, defensive tackle Jaheim Oatis, safety Malachi Moore and defensive end Justin Eboigbe. Third-teamers included wide receiver Jermaine Burton, defensive tackle Tim Smith and linebacker Chris Braswell.
The media also projected Georgia to win the SEC Championship Game, and narrowly selected Alabama to win the SEC West. It marked the first time since 2015 that Alabama has not been predicted to win the league title at SEC Media Days.
