Senda, who stretches 6-foot-4 and weighs 305 pounds, announced his intentions to transfer away from Northwestern on Twitter Thursday.
“Coming out of high school, I was fortunate to have a lot of scholarship opportunities at amazing universities,” Senda wrote on Twitter. “The #1 reason why I came to Northwestern over the other colleges was because of the relationship I had with Coach (Pat) Fitzgerald. He is a great man, leader, mentor, and football coach.”
Fitzgerald was fired from Northwestern on July 10 after a hazing investigation.
Before enrolling at Northwestern, Senda was rated a 3-star offensive lineman and the No. 12-ranked prospect out of Michigan in 247Sports’ class of 2023 rankings. Senda garnered offers from the likes of Michigan, Miami, Kentucky, Missouri and Cincinnati before committing to the Wildcats.
Senda comes to The Plains as a true freshman, giving Freeze and the Tigers an interior offensive lineman with plenty of eligibility.
With Senda’s commitment, Auburn will have 10 new offensive linemen on its roster, of which five came from out of the transfer portal.
