HISTORY — from college bio

 

2022: Suffered an injury late in camp that kept him out of the Utah State game ... started 11 games after the opener, totaling 30 receptions for 377 yards and four touchdowns ... named to the watch list for the Mackey Award, presented each season to the top tight end in college football ... also selected to the watch list for the Polynesian Player of the Year. Texas: Returned to the field for his first start of the season ... caught four passes for 28 yards and a pair of first downs. ULM: Recorded three catches for 51 yards against the Warhawks. Vanderbilt: Caught three passes for 27 yards with a long of 12. Arkansas: Got the start in Fayetteville but did not record any stats. Texas A&M: Helped the Tide score first with his 10-yard touchdown reception early in the second quarter. Tennessee: Led all pass-catchers with 90 yards and a score on his six receptions ... converted five first downs to go with his touchdown catch. Mississippi State: Recorded one catch for an 11-yard gain. LSU: Converted a first down on each of his three receptions for a combined 50 yards. Ole Miss: Caught three passes for 38 yards and a score. Auburn: Finished with one catch for 18 yards and a first down in the Iron Bowl. Kansas State: Led the Tide with five receptions for 54 yards and a score ... put Alabama in front for good with his one-yard reception early in the second quarter.

 

2021: Earned a starting spot in the season opener against Miami and never looked back ... set the Alabama record for touchdown catches by a tight end with eight, surpassing Irv Smith Jr.'s previous record of seven from 2018 ... finished tied for seventh in the SEC for touchdown receptions ... registered 26 total catches for 410 yards on the season ... also returned two kickoffs for seven combined yards ... named one of the offensive players of the week by the Alabama coaching staff for his play against Miami in the season opener. Miami: Caught his first three career passes, totaling 43 yards and two touchdowns against the Hurricanes. Mercer: Made his first career start in the Tide’s home opener. Florida: Finished with two catches for 19 yards in Gainesville. Southern Miss: Recorded three total catches for 57 yards with a long of 23 ... found the end zone twice with one receiving score from 11 yards out and a fumble recovery for the other. Ole Miss: Made his lone catch count, hauling in a three-yard pass for a score. Texas A&M: Caught one pass for 10 yards. Mississippi State: Targeted three times on the night but did not record a catch. Tennessee: Converted a Tide first down on each of his three receptions totaling 55 combined yards. LSU: Targeted three times on the night, finishing with one reception for a 15-yard gain. New Mexico State: Found the end zone once again, connecting with Bryce Young for a 12-yard touchdown catch. Arkansas: Caught three passes for a career-high 58 yards on the day. Auburn: Finished with one reception for a 14-yard gain and Tide first down. Georgia: Moved the chains on his lone catch for a gain of 13 yards. Cincinnati: Made his lone reception of nine yards count as he found the end zone for a score. Georgia: Led all Crimson Tide wideouts with 102 yards and one touchdown across his five catches ... converted a pair of first downs to go with his score and recorded a career-long 61-yard reception in the game.

 

2020: Worked himself into a role on offense while continuing his duties on special teams ... played in 12 games, missing only the Arkansas matchup.

 

2019: Added depth in the tight end room and worked on special teams ... saw time in 11 games, missing only the Texas A&M and Tennessee matchups. LSU: Worked at tight end and on special teams against the Tigers ... recorded his first tackle of the season on punt coverage.

 

2018: Redshirted following his freshman campaign ... saw time in two games (Louisville, Arkansas State) ... collected his first career tackle in the season opener against the Cardinals.
