Kamryn Pettway

FB, RB · Auburn
Entering the 2017 season, it was Pettway and not teammate Kerryon Johnson who was coming off the First Team All-SEC campaign and hoping to boost his NFL draft stock. After all, the bullish Pettway rushed for 1,224 yards in 2016 despite missing three games due to injury. He was the first player at Auburn to rush for at least 150 yards in four consecutive games since the legendary Bo Jackson accomplished this same feat in 1985 on his way to winning the Heisman Trophy. Pettway certainly began the season with high hopes, sharing with the media his goals for the year. "My individual goal is to break the school rushing record," he said, "but whatever I can do to help my team." It started off well with Pettway rushing for 128 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries in a tune-up against FCS opponent Mercer. Unfortunately, injuries again caught up with the burly back with Pettway sustaining a fractured scapula October 21 against Arkansas, an injury which ultimately cost him the remainder of the season. Pettway recorded just 76 carries for 305 yards with six touchdowns in 2017 and opted to give up his final year of eligibility, leaving Auburn for the NFL with 1,529 career rushing yards and 13 touchdowns on 285 carries. He also caught six passes for 58 yards. BACKGROUND Married with a child... Rushed for 1,402 yards, 17 TD as a senior ... high school coach was Chad Anderson ...
