Efrem Hill

WR · Samford
Positives...Has a tall, rangy frame with room for additional growth and in years past, when he played in the 187-190 range, there was no loss in quickness...Smooth open field runner with a normal stride that is more quicker than fast...Does not show any wasted movement in his release and getting into his route...Has the body control to adjust and makes plays on the ball in the air...Plays with great effort and shows great toughness going for the pass over the middle...Not afraid to sell out and compete for the ball down field...Has adequate strength, but will give good effort to gain position blocking...Shows enough hip wiggle to make the initial tackler miss...Looks natural going up for the ball and has the hands to extend and pluck the ball outside his frame...Shows very good concentration on the ballin flight and is aware of the chains and sidelines...Works back for the ball well and uses his hands and body to shade the ball from the defenders...Makes good adjustments on the move and shows the up field cutting ability to separate after the catch...Able to eat up the cushion as he builds to top speed. Negatives...Has a slight frame and failed to regain the weight that he lost after suffering a pelvic fracture in 2003...Needs to built up to top speed and is not the type that will win many foot races in the open, relying on moves to separate...Has some stiffness in his hip still from the injury and tends to shuffle his feet when working on short routes...Needs to set up his routes in order to gain yardage after the catching, lacking the second gear to take the ball to the house otherwise...Willing blocker, but lacks strength upon contact.
