He earned letters playing tight end and linebacker at Fayetteville High School for Coach Daryl Patton. He was a team captain and was voted Mr. Bulldog by his teammates. He led the team to the 2003 5A West Conference team championship.
Born April 19, 1987, he is the son of Dave and Leslie Wommack. His father, who played football at Missouri Southern (1974-78), is an assistant football coach at South Carolina and is a former Arkansas defensive coordinator.
