At USC


2022: Blackmon, who transferred to USC in the spring of 2022 from Colorado, will look to immediately contribute to the defensive back room as a redshirt senior in 2022. 

At Colorado

 

In his four-year (2018-21) career at Colorado, he had 87 tackles, including three for losses (with two sacks), 13 deflections, a fumble recovery and two interceptions while appearing in 25 games (with 19 starts).

 

2021: Made 2021 All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Pro Football Focus All-Pac-12 third team as a redshirt senior cornerback. Overall, he had 50 tackles, including a sack, plus five deflections, an interception and a fumble recovery while appearing in nine games. (He missed the Oregon State, UCLA and Utah games with injuries) He started eight games (all but California)...Had five tackles and an interception against Northern Colorado...four tackles, fumble recovery and deflection versus Texas A&M...six stops and a deflection against Minnesota...seven tackles at Arizona State...two tackles against USC...six tackles and a deflection versus Arizona...10 tackles at California...five tackles at Oregon...five stops and a deflection against Washington.

2020 (redshirt jr): He had 19 tackles, including one for a loss, 4 deflections and an interception while starting all six games as a redshirt junior in 2020. He finished 24th nationally in deflections...Had three tackles against UCLA...Recorded four tackles and two deflections at Stanford...Registered four tackles versus San Diego State...Deflected two passes at Arizona...Posted three tackles and an interception against Utah...Notched three tackles (one for a loss) against Texas.

 

2019 (jr): Saw action in four games at cornerback and on special teams before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the season...For the season he had nine tackles (including one sack) plus a deflection. He had four tackles against Colorado State...Recorded four tackles with a sack versus Nebraska.

2018 (soph): Appeared in six games, starting three...Posted nine tackles and three deflections in those six games...Had a deflection against New Hampshire...Recorded four tackles at Arizona...Made three tackles and had a deflection at California. Current Trojan Brenden Rice also attended Colorado.

JUNIOR COLLEGE:  He had 20 tackles, an interception, deflection and fumble recovery as a freshman at College of San Mateo (Calif.) junior college in 2017. CSM went 11-2 (its winningest record in program history) and advanced to the state championship game.

HIGH SCHOOL:  He made 2016 San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro honorable mention and All-Conference as a senior wide receiver and defensive back at Menlo-Atherton High in Atherton (Calif.). In 2016, he had 23 receptions for 620 yards (27.0 avg) with nine TDs on offense and six interceptions on defense.

He also played basketball at Menlo-Atherton.

PERSONAL

 

He is currently working on his master’s degree in gerontology at USC. His cousin, KeeSean Johnson, was a wide receiver at Fresno State (2015-18) who set the school’s career receptions and receiving yardage records and then went to the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals (2019) and now the Philadelphia Eagles (2021-22).
