Nathan Peterman

QB · Pittsburgh
A two-year starter at Pittsburgh, Peterman couldn't beat out Joshua Dobbs at Tennessee, but blossomed the past two seasons in the Panthers' pro-style scheme, ranking eighth overall in the FBS in passing efficiency as a senior. After redshirting in Knoxville in 2012, Peterman struggled to see the field for the Vols the next two seasons before enrolling at Pitt prior to the 2015 season as a graduate transfer. A few games into the 2015 season, Peterman beat out incumbent starter Chad Voytik and completed 61.5 percent of his passes for 2,287 and 20 touchdowns as a junior. He had his best season in 2016 as a senior (13 starts) with 60.5 percent completions, 2,855 yards and a 27-to-7 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Peterman might not have prototypical physical traits, but he has good-enough size, arm strength and mobility to go along with his poise and toughness as a pocket passer. College completion percentages are often deceiving, but his 60-percent career completions match the tape and decision-making must improve for the next level. Although his streaky ball placement might limit his pro ceiling, Peterman is smart, efficient and fearless with enough arm talent to be a reliable NFL back-up with starting upside with improvements in certain areas.
