Bradie Ewing

FB, RB · Wisconsin
Ewing rushed for 3,911 yards and scored 41 touchdowns during a highly decorated prep career in Wisconsin. A class president, National Honor Society member and basketball and track and field athlete, he decided to stay in-state and play for the Badgers. After playing primarily on the special teams units his first two seasons, Ewing got three starts in 2010 and was more involved in the offense as a senior. But it's his special teams play that drew the most attention from NFL scouts; Ewing was named the Badgers' special teams player of the year in 2011. While not much of a ballcarrier, Ewing does play with a physical streak and brings some versatility as a receiver.

strength

Good-sized frame with adequate bulk throughout his body. Natural bender and does a nice job playing with accurate pad level to win the leverage game. Accelerates quickly with initial burst and offers a sharp jolt at the point. Heady with natural instincts and strong work ethic. Prefers contact with a physical, tough football demeanor. Good focus and receiving intangibles to be a reliable option out of the backfield. Natural leadership skills and has worked hard for everything he’s earned. Extensive experience on special teams coverage.

weaknesses

Lacks ideal muscle definition for the position and needs to get stronger for the next level. Has only average natural power and isn’t a road grader who will be able to eliminate defenders in space or small spaces. Very ordinary athlete with no dynamic traits to make guys miss or be effective moving laterally. Straight-linish runner. Tends to allow the body into his body a lot and doesn’t offer much after the catch. Limited offensive production over his career, especially as a ballcarrier with only 7 career rushes.
