Taylor Moton

OG, OT · Western Michigan
A four-year starter for the Broncos, Moton had his sights set on Michigan State as a recruit where his mother is an administrator, but the best Sparty offered was a walk-on opportunity. He committed to Western Michigan, the first school to offer him a scholarship, and was part of the senior class that helped turn around the program (1-11 in 2013 to 13-1 in 2016). Moton earned the starting right tackle job as a freshman and started all 25 games there in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. He moved to right guard as a junior in 2015 and started all 13 games, earning Third Team All-MAC honors. Moton moved back to right tackle for his senior season and started all 14 games, earning First Team All-MAC honors and recognition on various All-American teams. Moton is a wide, well-built athlete who can move bodies in the run game due to his raw power and finishing toughness. He is an alert blocker in pass protection with adequate length, but very raw with his hand use (timing and placement), often hugging and losing balance -- can get away with choppy steps and late hands in the MAC, but will be a different story in the NFL. Moton isn't a flawless prospect, but most of his issues are fixable with technique training and a move inside to guard and a smaller area might help mask his issues.
