Week 5: DNP - idle
Week 4: Florida State moved to 4-0 with a 31-24 overtime win against Clemson. Payton recorded two sacks and assisted on another. He also recorded his first sack of the season. Payton also recorded a QB hurry, QB hit, and two pass breakups.
Week 3: FSU went to 3-0 on the season ekeing out a 31-29 win for ACC opponent, Boston College. Payton had two tackles in the game. He also was credited with two pressures the quarterback with 2 QB hurries.
Week 2: In Florida State's monster win over Southern Miss, 66-13, Payton twice got pressure on Golden Eagles QB Billy Wiles. Payton did not record a tackle in the game.
Week 1: FSU won their first game against LSU 45-24. Patrick recorded 3 tackles 1 unassisted and 2 assisted. Patrick also had 3 QB hurries.
