Cade Stover

TE, DE · Ohio St.

UPDATES

Week: Stover came up with some big plays in Ohio State's 20-12 win in its showdown with Penn State. The big TE had four catches for 70 yards on the day, including two highlight plays: the first was an impressive 27-yard catch down the seam, where he reached over the top of Penn State's Kobe King to pluck the ball out of the air. The catch gave the Buckeyes a first down at the Penn State 11-yard line. The second came in the fourth quarter when he got free in the middle of the field for the 30-yard catch and run into Penn State territory. The play helped set up a field goal to give Ohio State a seven-point lead.

Week 7: Stover continues to assert himself in the Buckeyes' offense. In the 41-7 drubbing of Purdue, the big TE caught all four of his targets for 53 yards (13.3 average) and two touchdowns. The sure-handed Stover has not dropped a pass through six games. His run blocking improvded over last week's effort against Maryland. — JH

Week 6: In Ohio State's 37-17 win over Maryland to remain unbeaten, Stover made the most of two catches, racking up 66 yards, including a 44-yard TD catch. His TD reception gave Ohio State a two-possession lead and came one play after Kyle McCord and Marvin Harrison's gem of a throw and catch to convert a 2nd-and-33. After two very good games run blocking, Stover struggled in that department against Maryland. — JH

Week 5: DNP — bye week

Week 4: Stover equaled Emeka Egbuka with a team-high seven receptions, which netted 52 yards. The big TE had a solid if unspectacular day run-blocking as the Buckeyes rushed for 126 yards in their dramatic 17-14 road win at Notre Dame. — JH

Week 3: Against Western Kentucky, Stover rebounded as a receiver from being shut out in Week 2, catching five balls for 90 yards. His Buckeyes routed the Hilltoppers 63-10. — JH

Week 2: A quiet game for Stover, who was not targeted once in Ohio State's 35-7 win over Youngstown State. — JH

Week 1: The big TE had a standout game in Ohio State's 23-3 over Indiana to open the season. Stover was targeted seven times through the air and pulled in five passes for 98 yards. Ohio State started off 2023 with a 23-3 win over visiting Indiana. Stover also had a solid run-blocking, helping Ohio State rush for 143 yards on the day. — JH

Week 0: DNP
