We firmly believe that Jim Harbaugh’s team will win 11+ games in 2023 led by quarterback JJ McCarthy, the halfback duo, and the dominant defense. If you agree, head over to BetMGM and take advantage of those odds.
Michigan Wolverines 2023 outlook
Perhaps the biggest reason for the immense hype surrounding this season’s Michigan football team is quarterback JJ McCarthy, who is entering his third year in the system. The former five-star recruit displayed a lot of promise in 2022, tossing 22 touchdowns to just five interceptions. Actually, the 6-foot-3 quarterback is even being deemed a Heisman Trophy candidate in 2023.
As far as the skill position group is concerned, Michigan will benefit mightily from the services of standout tailback Blake Corum. The senior posted over 1,500 all-purpose yards to go along with 19 touchdowns a year ago. Meanwhile, junior running back Donovan Edwards is a dual threat who rushed for over 150 yards against Ohio State, Penn State, and in the Big 10 title game last season.

Michigan’s perimeter threats aren’t going to make opposing defensive coordinators lose sleep, but they’ll have time to get open as McCarthy and the running backs will play behind one of the nation’s top offensive lines.
Defensively, the Wolverines are bringing back six starters from a defense that allowed just 16.1 points a game last year. Last season’s sixth-ranked defense will have a robust front seven that includes Mason Graham, Kris Jenkins, Junior Colson, and Michael Barrett.
The 2023 Michigan football schedule certainly isn’t a cakewalk, as they’ll be tasked with playing both Ohio State and USC on the road. Nonetheless, they should be right in the mix to win another Big 10 title.
