11/08/14 - CB Jimmy Smith (foot) was placed on reserve/injured by the Ravens Saturday (Nov. 8).
11/07/14 - CB Jimmy Smith is out for Sunday's game against Tennessee with a foot injury.
11/06/14 - CB Jimmy Smith, one of the Ravens' best players, will miss the rest of the season after undergoing foot surgery, the team announced Thursday.
"With the exam this morning, the doctors decided that he needed surgery and they repaired the injury," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said on the team's official website. "Jimmy is finished for the season, but will recover for our offseason program."
Initially it was believed Smith's injury would sideline him for only a few weeks.
"The plan for Jimmy was to do more testing once swelling subsided. With this exam, doctors decided he needed surgery," Harbaugh said.
Smith is under contract for $6.9 million next season.
11/05/14 - CB Jimmy Smith remains sidelined with a sprained left foot and isn't expected to play Sunday.
11/02/14 - CB Jimmy Smith, who sat out his second consecutive game due to a foot injury, is sorely missed by the Ravens. Steelers QB Ben Roethlisberger picked the Ravens apart, throwing for 340 yards and six touchdowns. That came a week after Bengals QB Andy Dalton passed for 266 yards against Baltimore. The Ravens lost both AFC North games to fall to 5-4 and into last place in the division.
