 Draft Scout Jimmy Smith News
12/28/15 - CB Jimmy Smith's game against the Steelers exemplified his up and down season. Smith got called for two costly pass interference penalties. However, he bounced back with a key interception that stalled a Steelers' potential scoring drive. Smith also would have made one of the biggest plays in the NFL season when he had 101-yard interception return negated by an offside penalty against linebacker Courtney Upshaw.
12/27/15 - CB Jimmy Smith was able to play despite leaving the previous game in the first quarter with a thigh injury. Smith returned to practice as a full participant Thursday. Smith had two costly pass interference penalties but also got a key interception. "To get a turnover, period, is a great thing," Smith said. "To get a turnover in a rivalry game when things are not going the way we want to is even better. Those turnovers turned into points for us today. It was a great thing for us. Got a good win."
12/21/15 - CB Jimmy Smith left the game with a thigh injury Sunday against Kansas City, but Ravens coach John Harbaugh was optimistic Smith would be available for the Steelers game. "Jimmy has a good chance to play," Harbaugh said Monday. Smith also had a season-ending foot injury last season after just six games.
12/20/15 - CB Jimmy Smith left the game with a thigh injury Sunday against Kansas City. Smith went to the locker room and was ruled out for the remainder of the game. He appeared to suffer the injury trying to chase down Chiefs running back Charcandrick West who found a hole and ran 38 yards for a touchdown on the opening possession. Smith's status for next week against Pittsburgh is uncertain. He had a season-ending foot injury last season after just six games. "I don't have an update. I don't know," Ravens coach John Harbaugh said about the latest injury
11/16/15 - CB Jimmy Smith is having a disappointing season. He was beaten several times for long gains against Jacksonville, and let a potential interception bounce off his hands. He also had a 27-yard pass interference penalty.
