 Draft Scout Russell Wilson News
09/26/16 - QB Russell Wilson initially looked to have sustained a serious injury when his left knee twisted under a horse-collar tackle from 49ers linebacker Eli Harold in the third quarter. The quarterback was writhing on the turf before being helped to the sideline for further evaluation. Wilson sat only out one play before going back onto the field to finish a drive that resulted in a field goal and a 30-3 lead. After that, Wilson's day was over. Wilson is scheduled to undergo an MRI exam to assess the knee before the team determines his status for next Sunday's game against the New York Jets. "I'll be good to go," he said. Wilson completed 15 of 23 passes for 243 yards and a touchdown.
09/26/16 - QB Russell Wilson has a sprained MCL, coach Pete Carroll said Monday. The Seahawks could choose to sit Wilson in Week 4 with a bye the following week, a consideration Carroll said the Seahawks must look at before traveling to play the New York Jets. Of concern is the talented front seven of the Jets, which could easily overmatch Seattle's injury-plagued offensive line. Wilson came into the game hurt. He injured his ankle in Week 1 and played Week 2 at the Rams at "less than whole," Carroll said.
09/21/16 - QB Russell Wilson (ankle) was listed as a full participant in practice again on Wednesday. Both coach Pete Carroll and offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell said Wilson is feeling better than he did last week and didn't seem to regress despite playing Sunday in Los Angeles.
09/18/16 - QB Russell Wilson completed 22 of 35 passes 253 yards Sunday in Seattle's 9-3 loss at Los Angeles.
09/13/16 - QB Russell Wilson dodged a bullet when his ankle injury caused by an Ndamukong Suh sack turned out to be minor. Suh ran around Seahawks' right tackle Garry Gilliam and closed on Wilson, who fell to the ground in hopes of avoiding a major blow from Suh. . Suh accidentally stepped on the back outside portion of Wilson's right heel, wrenching his ankle awkwardly toward the turf. Wilson could barely move for the remainder of the series as Seattle had to punt after two more plays. Wilson never left the game. "No shot," he said. "I was going out, no matter what. That's just my mentality, whatever it takes. We have to find a way to win." Said Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll: "We never thought for a second that he wasn't going to play. We just taped him up and sent him on back out. Really courageous fashion, I thought it was great."
