Michigan wide receiver Drake Harris (14) is overthrown during a 2016 game against Michigan State.
Former Michigan wide receiver Drake Harris announced on Saturday that he is transferring to Western Michigan for his final year of college eligibility. Harris previously announced last November that he was intending to leave the program. He plans to enroll at Western Michigan as a graduate transfer so he will be allowed to play immediately. "I'm happy to announce that I will be playing my last year of eligibility at Western Michigan University, while pursuing a masters degree," Harris posted on Instagram. "Excited to get working with Coach (Tim) Lester and the rest of the coaching staff for a great year next season. Go Broncos." In 25 games with Michigan, Harris caught nine passes for 60 yards. Western Michigan returns all eight wide receivers who caught a pass last year, but none had more than 30. The Broncos were 111th in the nation in completions and 116th in passing yards. Western Michigan finished 6-6 in 2017, Lester's first season. Western Michigan visits Michigan on Sept. 8.
