CFB Note - Connecticut Hopkins, Nate

RB Nate Hopkins has left the Connecticut team and intends to transfer, according to a published report. Coach Randy Edsall confirmed to the Hartford Courant that Hopkins plans to transfer to an undetermined school after being informed of his expected role with the Huskies. "We told him what we thought his role would be, as a short-yardage and goal-line guy," Edsall said, per the newspaper. "We just try to be honest, and if guys don't want to do the role that we think, if they think they can have a bigger role somewhere else, God bless them and good luck to them." Hopkins, a sophomore, had 92 carries for 343 yards last season and led the team with seven rushing touchdowns.
