Former Pitt star Jordan Addison cited for speeding at 140 mph in Minnesota

Former Pitt star Jordan Addison is facing some legal trouble in his new NFL home city.
The Minnesota State Patrol said Addison — who was drafted by the NFL’s Vikings at the end of April — was cited for speeding and reckless driving in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The police news release said that Addison was clocked driving his Lamborghini Uras at 140 miles per hour in a 55 mph zone on Interstate-94 eastbound just after 3 a.m. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
Addison was a key piece of Pitt’s 2021 ACC championship team as the favorite option of current Steelers quarterback Kenny Pickett. He totaled 1,593 yards and 17 touchdowns and won the Biletnikoff Award, given to the nation’s best receiver annually.
He transferred to USC before last season. His numbers faded from his breakthrough sophomore season with Pitt, but was still regarded highly enough to go to the Vikings with the 23rd overall pick in the April draft.
He’s the latest in a series of young NFL players who’ve found themselves in trouble for speeding situations over the past year and change.
Fellow first-round pick Jalen Carter of Philadelphia pleaded no contest to reckless driving charges in connection with a January street racing incident that left a former Georgia teammate and support staffer dead. He’s also facing a civil lawsuit in the case.
And in late 2021, Las Vegas Raiders receiver Henry Ruggs was involved in a fatal accident in which he crashed into another driver at over 120 mph. He was released by the Raiders and later pleaded guilty to a pair of charges in the incident.
