Week 4: Sainristil lit up the Big House in the third quarter with a spectacular interception in traffic and his 69-yard return for a TD to break open a game that Rutgers was threatening to get back into. Overall, the CB graded out pretty well in Michigan's 31-7 triumph over Rutgers. He did give up 88 yards on three receptions but that 29.8 average per catch allowed is skewered since 69 of those yards came on one play, when Rutgers wideout Christian Dremel got inside Sainistril and took a slant pass the distance on just the third play of the game. Sainistril was effective blitzing from his DB spot, as he twice got pressure on Scarlet Knights QB Gavin Wimsatt.
Week 3: Sainristil played 41 snaps in Michigan's decisive 31-6 win over Bowling Green. Lining up in coverage mostly over the slot (29 snaps), he was targeted twice, giving up a long pass of 33 yards on the one completion against him. He was also in on three tackles. — JH
Week 2: Though in on 39 total snaps, Sainristil was targeted just once in coverage in Michigan's 35-7 win over Delaware. He recorded four tackles and helped anchor a Wolverines pass defense that held UNLV quarterbacks to a combined to 15-of-26 and 168 yards. — JH
Week 1: Sainristil started off 2023 with a bang, intercepting East Carolina QB Mason Garcia in Michigan territory on the game's opening drive. Sainristil played 34 snaps, was targeted five times on passes, allowing two receptions for 13 yards, and led a Wolverine pass defense that limited East Carolina to 132 yards passing.
