LSU football adds commitment from big junior college tight end

In the midst of LSU baseball's success in Omaha on Saturday, LSU football added a potential asset for its tight ends room. Junior college tight end Connor Gilbreath has committed to LSU, he announced on Twitter Saturday. Gilbreath was attending Butte College and has offers from Arizona, Colorado, Miami and Mississippi State. He joins an LSU tight ends room that was rebuilt this offseason around returning starter Mason Taylor. The Tigers added three freshmen tight ends this offseason, including four-star signee Ka'Morreun Pimpton, four-star signee Mac Markway and three-star signee Jackson McGohan. Gilbreath will bring more experience and blocking talent to the room. At 6-foot-5 and 265 pounds, he is expected to help LSU as a blocking tight end. “Coach Denbrock wants to use me as a blocking tight end, and I’m excited about that,” Gilbreath said to On3 Sports earlier this month. “Catching is cool, but I could care less. I love blocking. I am not a tight end trying to be a receiver.”
