MOCK, DAPORE EARN MW PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

Air Force senior inside linebacker Alec Mock and junior kicker Matthew Dapore were honored as Mountain West Players of the Week for their efforts vs. Sam Houston.
Mock recorded a season-high 11 tackles to earn the defensive player of the week honor. His 11 stops are the most by a Falcon this season and marks the third time in his career he has recorded 10-plus tackles. Four of his tackles forced third downs and the team failed to convert each time on the third down. Mock also had 1.0 tackles for loss for five yards, coming on third and short to force a field goal. The Air Force defense allowed just six first downs and 80 total yards. The award is the first of his career and he is the first Falcon to earn the defensive honor since Vince Sanford in 2021.
Dapore tied a career-high with two field goals, hitting from 42 yards each to mark the first time this season and fourth of career to have two 40-plus field goals in a game. His first field goal gave Air Force a 3-0 lead, while his second gave Air Force the lead for good. Dapore moved into 10th on the career field goals made list with 26. The award is the first of his career and he is the first Falcon to earn the special teams honor since Luke Strebel in 2017.
