Mark Glowinski

OG, OT · West Virginia
NFL prospects at the skill positions have become commonplace at West Virginia during Dana Holgorsen's tenure but gritty offensive linemen, on the other hand, have been a relative rarity. Glowinski, who shined during East-West Shrine Game practices after two solid seasons for the Mountaineers following a JUCO transfer, looks capable of changing that perception. Glowinski signed with the Mountaineers as a highly regarded tackle following two seasons starting at Lackawanna College. Shortly after joining West Virginia, Glowinski was slid inside to guard, where his tenacity, strength and length helped him enjoy immediate success. Because of his size and athleticism, it isn't out of the question for some to envision Glowinski moving back outside to tackle at the next level. His position versatility, perceived upside and strong showing at the East-West Shrine Game could make Glowinski a name to remember as a potential riser as the draft approaches.

strengths

Looks more like an NFL offensive tackle than a guard with broad shoulders, relatively long arms, a trim middle and athletic lower half. Good initial quickness off the ball and has the lateral agility to handle blocking in space, as he did in logging snaps at right tackle during the East-West Shrine Game. Best asset may be his hand placement and upper body strength. Can lock on and control defenders and is powerful enough to shove them out of the way even when out of position. Highly regarded for his toughness and work ethic. Provided evidence of his intelligence in switching positions (and offenses) at the East-West Shrine, alleviating some of the concerns scouts had about his transition from WVU's spread attack.

weaknesses

Possesses intriguing upside but may be a year away from contributing as he's still rough around the edges after being moved around during his collegiate career. Good length and athleticism for the guard position but isn't so nimble that the transition to tackle is a sure thing. Struggles a bit with counter moves, too often relying on his upper body strength to control opponents. Could improve in this regard with better knee bend and foot slide, at times leaning too much into opponents. Some tightness in his hips exposed when blocking moving targets at the second level. Comes with typical JUCO questions about his football intelligence and commitment.
